This Winter, why not relax with some simple, delicious comfort food at The Grange Restaurant?
Chef has introduced a tasty new winter warmers to complement some of our popular favourites. Visit at lunch-time, and you’ll find some delicious seasonal twists to our main courses and puds, together with a choice of healthy and wholesome salads.
The Grange beef shin and Rebellion Ale pie offers a comfort food classic. Slow, slow, slow cooked beef and mushrooms are popped into a homemade shortcrust pastry pie and baked until golden. Accompanied by creamy shallot-mashed potato, tenderstem broccoli and crispy shallots, it’s a rich and hearty lunchtime treat on a cold winter’s day.
Chef’s indulgent truffled macaroni cheese with sautéed wild mushrooms and parmesan elevates this firm favourite to a new level… It’s an earthy, warming dish just perfect for cheese-lovers, served with toasted garlic brioche.
In celebration of the joyous fish finger sandwich, our breaded Cornish hake deli sandwich with homemade tartare, ketchup and rocket salad is combined with vegetable crisps and leaf salad for a sustaining lunch. Or try the open ‘Tartine’ of roasted seasonal vegetables, goats’ cheese and red onion chutney for a mouth-watering vegetarian alternative.
Once more, Chef has created a fabulous medley of winter-inspired seasonal salads – the heritage beetroot salad is packed with flavours and colours, including crumbled goats’ cheese, toasted hazelnuts and spinach; salt-baked celeriac and kale salad is served with apples and chestnuts and some vibrant ruby pomegranate seeds; the lightly spiced cauliflower and brown rice salad is dressed in a teriyaki dressing; and the spiced chickpea and roast butternut squash salad simply zings with lemon, feta, pickled radish all complemented by a dill yoghurt dressing.
Customers can settle in and relax at The Grange with our newly introduced range of appetisers, including marinated olives with garlic, thyme and rosemary; sourdough and focaccia bread with butter, olive oil and balsamic, homemade hummus dips served with flaxseed crackers, or the heavenly Cumberland sausage roll with cranberries, chestnuts, sage and pistachio.
And finally, if you’re craving something sweet, come and taste divine almond, date and chocolate bread and butter pudding, served with either custard or clotted cream ice cream, or treat yourself to warm homemade chocolate brownie…
